Dear Russell Family, My heartfelt condolences to you all. My memories of "Mr. Russell" go back to grade school and church. He was joyful and kind, and a parent I looked up to. He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. I played opposite Jim in Brigadoon in High School. Jim and all the kids have the same easy going and welcoming nature. Later I became a flight attendant, and had the pleasure of flying with Captain Russell. I know you will miss him dearly. He leaves a legacy of service and love. May God bless you and comfort you. You are in my prayers. Love, Diane Coghlan Ensch

Diane, thank you so much for your endearing words and comments about Chuck. He was fond of you and your family starting many years back. He would be happy to know you were still happily flying for American Airlines. God bless you.
Love,
Jackie

Dear Jackie, I send my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to you after hearing of Chuck's passing from Annie. I see Annie regularly @ St. Cloud Hospital where we both work. She has been very kind to keep me posted about Chuck. Chuck is the 1st person that I remember meeting when we both showed up for American's pilot class 1/57 in Ft. Worth Tx. I was drawn to him immediately and we have had a very strong friendship for the past 60 years. We had a similar U.S. Navy background and really hit it off. He was an inspiration and "Role Model" to us all with his ready smile, innate integrity, and excellent piloting and people skills. I also fondly remember several visits to your beautiful home in Hinsdale when you were hosting a party for pilot friends. Please know that we friends from outside the family now miss him terribly also. He was very much a joy in our lives. I feel privileged to have known him and privileged to have the pleasure of his company on the occasions when he visited me here at my place in St. Cloud where we would talk for hours, or until the time that we would get a phone call from you or Annie telling us that our time was up! May God bless you and your family as time continues to go by.
Best Wishes & Love,
Andy

Dear Andy,
Thank you so much for your comments and descriptions of your history with Chuck and your friendship. He always wanted to "stop and see Andy" whenever we went to St. Cloud to visit Annie and her family. He too considered you a special friend. He is now free to smile on all of us. Thank God.

Chuck does have an amazing welcoming smile! A gift!! Chuck made a lasting impression on me the first time we met. I have the privilege of experiencing a dear friendship with Chuck's wonderful daughter, Annie. Chuck was warm, kind and personable - more than willing to embrace a person he new little about but who he knew was important to his daughter. Annie has similar qualities and I suspect Chuck had a significant influence on the rest of his big family with his gentle nature. I witnessed a man who cherished his wife, Jackie and his family. It was heartfelt to see his son, Pat ensure that Chuck could experience a little bit of his granddaughter - Hannah's wedding by face timing him prior to the service. Chuck represents a dedicated family man and his family returned that dedication with much love. My heart reaches out to all of you! Celebrate the memories and the pieces of Chuck that you each have inherit in you. Special prayers to Jackie - the "first grade" love! You have worn many hats in Chuck's life! I pray for you to feel at peace! You have been there for Chuck and your family with grace! God bless!!! Jeanie
