Thomas "Tim" Francis Hawkins

Thomas “Tim” Francis Hawkins, age 85, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026. Tim was the beloved husband of Jan Hawkins (née Walsh). They would have been married 60 years this coming June. He was a loving father to Beth Walsh (Chris), Laura Benkovich (Jim), and the late Tighe Hawkins. He cherished his grandchildren: Tasha (James), Jimmy, William (Abby), Zachary (Mariah), Nicholas, Ceci (Konrad), Katie, Maddie, Michael, and Abby. Tim was a dear brother to Kathye Triantafillou, Joan Pionke, Bob Hawkins, and the late Jack Hawkins. Tim was a respected brother-in-law to Malachy Walsh and the late Bill Walsh. He was also an adoring uncle to many nieces and nephews, and great-grandfather to three grandsons. 

Tim was known for his dry and witty sense of humor, cared deeply about his family and the communities where he lived and worked (Chicago, New York, Bermuda, North Carolina). He built lasting, meaningful friendships over the course of his life. Tim was an aficionado of all crossword puzzles; the more difficult the better. His kindness and gentle demeanor were appreciated by those closest to him as well as by those he only met briefly.

His life has been enriched by the love of many who will forever cherish his memory. 

A visitation will be held on Friday April 24, 2026 from 10am until time of funeral mass 11am at St Isaac Jogues Church, 4th and Clay St, Hinsdale, IL 60521.
