Subhash Govind Jejurikar

On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, Subhash Govind Jejurikar, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 85 after a multiyear battle with Alzheimer’s dementia. Despite his fading memories at the time of his passing, Subhash will forever be remembered by his family as a dynamic intellectual powerhouse, with a personality that always outshone the constraints of his mortal life.

Subhash was born on June 17, 1936, in Mumbai, India to Govind and Radha Jejurikar. He married Mira Bhagwat on August 6, 1965, and both emigrated to the United States to attend graduate school. Subhash completed a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and embarked on a successful career as a Forensic Toxicologist in St. Paul, Minnesota. Subhash and Mira raised two sons, Sandeep and Sameer, who served as a constant source of pride for him.

Subhash was passionate about his family, pouring his energy into his sons’ personal development and academic achievements, always sacrificing his own wants for those of his children. He had a quick wit, an infectious laugh, and a knack for storytelling, regaling his many friends with countless anecdotes and jokes over many long nights. Later in life, he devoted himself to his grandchildren, showering them with affection and serving as a constant, loving rock on which they could always lean.

Subhash is survived by his wife Mira, his two sons, Sandeep and Sameer, his daughters-in-law, Aru and Karen, and his five grandchildren, Sophie, Ajay, Kai, Anjali, and Julian.
