Steven Henry Racz, age 91, formerly of Lytle Creek, California, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. He was born on December 24, 1929 in Hajduboszormeny, Hungary, the second son of Mihaly and Margit (Fodor) Racz.
Steven loved learning, reading, working with his hands and sharing stories. He earned a degree in Technology and Management from a university in Budapest, Hungary. Steven fled Hungary during a time of political turmoil and emigrated to the United States in January of 1956. Steven embraced living in the Chicagoland area, working and raising his three daughters.
Steven retired and moved to California in 1986, and spent many happy and healthy years in the Lytle Creek community. For over 20 years, he was active as the Director of the Lytle Creek Community Church and served on the boards for the Lytle Creek Homeowners Association and the Lytle Creek Land Exchange. Steven was the community “hardware store” and “good Samaritan”-- always willing to offer help, advice and service.
He is survived by his three daughters Diane Pugh, Stephanie (John) Czuprynko, Ramona (James) Brorson and his grandchildren, Amy Meier (Kevin Raymond), Christine (Mark) Sinor, Monica Czuprynko, Renee Czuprynko, Krystin Czuprynko, Donald Brorson, Isaac Brorson and Louisa Brorson, and great-grandchildren: Lance Raymond, Kyle Raymond, Caius Sinor and Saoirse Sinor.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Summerfield, and brothers Imre Racz, Anton Racz and Peter Racz and many cousins, nieces and nephews in the United States, Canada and Hungary.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Racz. Memorial gifts may be directed to Lytle Creek Community Church, 13837 Lytle Creek Lane, Lytle Creek, CA 92358.
A private family interment will take place on Saturday April 24, 2021.
