Ryan Pierce McCabe of Hinsdale passed away on June 9, 2023.
Ryan was creative, making things out of wood, clay, and metal. His smile warmed the rooms he entered. He was a certified welder and made his own forge.
When Ryan wasn’t making jewelry or forging metal, he spent time devoting his love to the many dogs at a shelter where he worked. He was also an avid outdoorsman. As a youngster, he spent many golden summers at the family’s lake in Minocqua with his parents, sister, and dog. Ryan was a thoughtful observer of wildlife, becoming an Eagle Scout and honing his skills at a wilderness center in Utah.
Ryan enjoyed rock music and was a skilled musician. Music brought him peace and he was a multi- instrumentalist, playing the piano, saxophone, cello, and guitar.
Ryan will be sorely missed by his mother Vera McCabe, longtime partner Kathy Orlow, his friends, extended family, and dogs.
You are now free, Ryan, to explore the galaxy (the answer is 42). Be at peace with your father Pierce, sister Maggie, cousin Kevin, and grandparents.
