Ryan M Cool

On Thursday,  July 09, 2020, God decided to call home the beautiful soul of Ryan M. Cool: loving son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend at the young age of 46.

Ryan was born on January 26th, 1974, in Grand Rapids, MI.  He graduated from Comstock Park H.S in 1993 and earned his MBA from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas in 2009. Ryan held various positions in the Human Service field in Dallas, Minneapolis, and Chicago. Most recently he shared his exuberant personality and love of singing as a Lyft driver. Ryan always made a personal connection with everyone he met.

Ryan’s passion in life was singing.  He had a beautiful tenor voice and loved to serenade his family and friends. Most recently, he was a member of The Singing Quakers Past and Present at Friends University.  During the initial spread of the COVID-19 virus,   the Singing Quakers Past and Present wanted to spread hope and encouragement during these trying and hectic times. They came together virtually to sing Gilbert M. Martin's arrangement of "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross".  

Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Cathy Schnabel.

  He is survived by his partner Gabriel Cervera, his Father Mark (Nancy) Cool, his Step-Father Mark (Micki) Schnabel, his grandmother Norma Cool, his sisters Jennica Cool, Marcie Cool,  Anna (Art)Lardinois,  brother Max (Tiffany) Schnabel, and step-brother Mark Kleimola, numerous nephews, nieces, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Also surviving was a very special friend and mentor Ian Williams, as well as two “fur babies” Klondike and Avery.

A funeral mass  will be celebrated on July 17th, 2020  at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9669 Kraft Avenue SE, Caledonia, MI 49316
