Norris Jerome Kjos, a resident of Hinsdale, formerly of Geneva and St. Charles, Illinois passed away on November 17, 2018. He was born on February 25, 1934, in New London, Connecticut to Norris and Clara Kjos and is better known as Jerry by his friends and family. He grew up in Michigan and attended Edwin Denby High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the military for two years and proudly served in the army as a Nike Missile Operator during the Korean War. He then attended Olivet College, in Olivet, Michigan and graduated with a degree in Economics. After that, Jerry went on to Wayne State University where he earned an MBA. His career spanned for forty years with both privately and publicly owned companies. He also developed his own consulting business which he successfully ran until retirement.
Jerry had many interests; reading, hunting, travel, gold, and tennis. However, he always said his greatest achievement was his beautiful family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth. Their daughters Kari (Ted) Snodgrass, Kristen( Earl) Counter and five grandchildren, Max, Sam, and Claire Snodgrass and Nicole and Frances Counter. He was a devoted husband, loving father and inspirational grandfather. A private family service was held at Christ Church of Oak Brook.
