Martin Myers Obituary

Martin Herbert Myers (Cappy ) longtime Hinsdale resident passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 5, 2024. Martin was preceded in death by his wife Dolores (Lorry/Lala) whom they had shared a long and loving marriage of 75 years. Martin is survived by his adoring children: Rita, Marty (Karen), Susie, Michael (Nancy), and Christy. He was a proud grandfather to Alexandra (George), Lauren, Hilary, Marty Lee, Lyndsay, Michael (MaryLou), Anna, Charles, and Katherine. And a great grandfather to Amelia, Ella, and Ava. Martin was preceded in death by his father Joseph, his mother Lily, and sister Bette. He had an extensive background in corporate leadership as well as a realtor with Adams and Myers Realtors in Hinsdale. Martin and Lorry were devout Catholics having had two private audiences with the pope. Martin was an active parishioner for 50+ years at St. Isaac Jogues. He is an alumnus of St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. In his leisure, Martin was an avid pilot, a passionate runner, a skilled golfer and an accomplished skier that led him to travel the world. He was also a social member at Ruth Lake country club in Hinsdale.

The family will be having a private mass and burial for Martin at his request.
