Larry Frank, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor and friend to so many, passed away on July 3, 2022 surrounded by his family in Chicago, IL.
He is survived by his loving wife Jan, son Will (Devan), daughters Jennifer (Garrett) and Erica, grandchildren Ryan, Madison, Jack, Taylor and Riley, and his sister Karen Bare.
Larry was born in Marathon, NY on May 23, 1947, the son of the late Eddy and Erna Frank. He graduated from Georgetown University and proudly served in the United States Army as a Lieutenant and Forward Observer in ground combat in the Vietnam War. He earned The Bronze Star for heroism and bravery in his role. He later had a successful career in sales, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and President at ComDoc in Akron, OH. In 2009, Larry helped engineer the sale of ComDoc to Xerox, a significant event that positively impacted hundreds of families.
Larry had a gift for coaching, teaching and mentoring others, and he was an incredibly generous and charitable man. If you knew Larry, you will remember his love of playing and watching sports, reading and traveling - cherished traditions he shared with and passed down to his children. His children and grandchildren were his heart and soul, and they will carry their Dad and Grandpa Larry with them in their hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, the Frank family asks that donations be made in Larry’s name and honor to the American Heart Association, an organization that he served as a Board member, or the American Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rosewood Grill in Hudson, OH on August 27 from 1 to 5 p.m.
