Joan S Flinn

Joan S. Flinn, 86 of Huntley, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024.  Joan was born on July 25, 1937, in Chicago to parents (the late) Veronica and Rudolph Schwarz.  Joan was the devoted wife of 65 years to George Flinn; loving mother of seven children Laura (the late Rich) Sullivan, George (Mary) Flinn Jr., Terri (Tom) Kolner, Diane (David) Conrad, John (Mary) Flinn, Tom Flinn and Karyn (Christopher) Thompson; loving grandmother to 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  Joan is survived by her brothers Rudolph, George and sister Stephanie. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Norine, sister Patricia and brothers Steve and John. She leaves behind a large extended family. 

Joan devoted her life to her family. She never missed a birthday, graduation, holiday or celebrating a special occasion. She loved hosting parties for family and friends. Joan spent time traveling with her husband, children and grandchildren. Special memories were made on those adventures. 

Joan enjoyed shopping, cooking, polkas, working on puzzles and playing Scrabble with her grandchildren, spending time with family and friends and her pugs Mulligan and Ernie.

Her kind heart and warm smile will be missed by many.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Joan’s life.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Joan’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or On Angel’s Wings Animal Rescue in Crystal Lake.
