James Robert Kolzow

James Robert Kolzow of Clarendon Hills passed away on November 10, 2020.  James was the son of the late John and Margaret Kolzow. Beloved husband of Janet, loving father of Kristen and Michelle.  Caring grandfather of Kenton and Kailyn.  Brother of William, Richard, and Ron (Maureen).  Jim was born and raised in Hinsdale and was a graduate of Hinsdale Central High School.  He graduated from Colorado State College, Greeley, Colorado, with a Bachelor of Science degree in education.  He began his career teaching biology and coaching football and wrestling in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  Jim returned to Illinois to teach Biology and AP Biology at Hinsdale Central High School.  He also was a well-loved coach of football, baseball, and girls softball from 1969-2000.  Jim was known for his kind and gentle ways.  His leadership and dedication inspired students and athletes alike.  A quote of Jim’s best describes his life: “I love what I do every day.  I am blessed.”  Services for Jim are private.  Donations can be made on Jim’s behalf to the Alzheimer's Association, .https://www.alzfdn.org/
