James R Chiavetta

James Chiavetta passed away on November 4, 2020, at LaGrange Hospital. James was a Navy veteran. Father of Raymond Chiavetta, Andrea Nunez, and Claudia Hartl. Grandfather of Belicia Nunez, and Liam Chiavetta. Brother of Gary Chiavetta. James joined the Navy on April 16, 1969, during the Vietnam war. After four years he joined the Navy reserves where he was a machinist working on various ships and submarines later retiring on January 1, 2004. He was a federal employee for 31 years working for the Defense Department as a Material Quality Inspector, where he inspected various parts including ejection seats for fighter aircraft, Apache helicopter transmissions and his most favorite was inspecting parts of the International Space Station for NASA. His fingerprints are up in space on the station as it orbits the Earth. A visitation will be held Friday, November 13, 2020, 2-3 pm at 7000 S. Madison St. Willowbrook, IL 60527.
