George Joseph Bereckis, born July 21, 1947 in Chicago IL. Died peacefully on February 9, 2022, surrounded by his wife Clara and his three children. Beloved husband of 30 years to Clara (née LeDonne). Loving father of George (Ilona) Bereckis, Jeffrey (Heather) Bereckis, Kristen (Jonathan Fay) Bereckis. Adoring Grandfather to Brianna and Joseph Bereckis, Lily and Alexandra Cristia, and Wesley Bereckis. Dear Brother of Genevieve (the late Emil) Hess, Monica Samars, Judi (the late Donald) Prochaska, Anne Bereckis, Terry (Bruno) Bertocci & the late John (Esther) Bereckis, Doris (the late Richard) Ostapina, William (the late Diane) Bereckis & Patricia (the late Peter) Rippel. Fond Uncle to many nieces and nephews. George was a proud veteran who served in the Army during the Vietnam war era from 1966 - 1968. He was a Chicago Police Officer for 25 years. George was a very proud family man. He was known for his jokes, one-liners and his own brand of “Dad Jokes.” George was often known as his wife’s personal Mr. Fix-it. He loved the holidays, great music, and collecting and restoring model trains. George treasured the time spent fishing with friends and family. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 15th from 3-8 pm at Adolf Funeral Home 7000 S. Madison St. Willowbrook Il. Family and friends will meet Wednesday at 9:15 am to process to Notre Dame Catholic Parish 64 Norfolk ave Clarendon Hills Il for a 10:00 am funeral mass, interment will be private.
