Elmer F. Hass, Jr., 89, of Clarendon Hills, passed away on June 20, 2024, after a courageous 3-year fight with cancer. Elmer was one of four children of Elmer Hass Sr. and Verna (Datta) Hass. He was the loving partner of Josephine Zelinski for 32 years.
Elmer was preceded in death by wife Nancy (Jeffries) Hass, son Christopher Hass, brother Martin Hass, sister Marion Parry, brother-in-law Donald Jeffries, and grandson Brandon Regan.
He was the brother of Shirley Cole, and brother-in-law of Anne Dvorak.
Loving father of Brenda (Michael) Miskiewicz, David (Kristine) Hass, Cary (Carleen) Hass, Bradley (Brenda) Hass, Diana (Marius) Kucinas, Barry (Jennifer) Hass, Tim (Lynn) Zelinski, and Kathy (Page) Ayers.
Cherished grandfather of Megan, Jenna, Barb (Rob), Sarah, Darius (Gabby), Laura, Drew (Michele), Vaughn, Christine (Victor), Julia, George, Emilie, Lily, Liam, Jessica (Edward), Sarah, Troy (Lucy), Nick (fiancée Elizabeth), Leslie, Lauren (Dayne), and Abby.
Adored great-grandfather of Austin, Kiana, Danny, Emma, Madison, Jensen, Marley, Mavis, Elijah, Edward III, Ellanor, Lilly, Leo, Charlotte, and Graham.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great/great-great nieces & nephews.
Elmer was a long-time resident of Hinsdale. He built and operated Elmer & Sons Auto Center in Clarendon Hills. He was a hard worker as well as a great role model and mentor to his children and many others.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday June 26, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm until time of service at 7pm at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S Madison St. Willowbrook, IL 60527. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
