Elizabeth “Betsy” Hoyd

Elizabeth “Betsy” Hoyd (nee Rachford), 82, of Brookfield, IL passed away April 3, 2022, surrounded by her family.  Betsy is survived by her loving husband, Richard “Dick” Hoyd, of 57 years.  Sister to Marian and John.  Preceded in death by her parents and sisters Virginia “Ginny” and Kristie.  Loving mom to two sons, Gary (Kristin) and Dale (Amy).  Gramma will be dearly missed by her 8 grandchildren: Brett, Lyndsey, Ella, Brock, Madeline, Logan, Luke, and Julia.  Aunt Betsy was loved by her many nieces and nephews and their children.  Betsy was the center of the family that kept us connected.  She loved to play cards and was a bridge partner to many over the years. Betsy was a graduate from Millikin University in Decatur, IL. She was a retired grammar schoolteacher who taught for 35 years in the Villa Park and Burbank school districts.  A celebration of life for the family is pending.
