Donald R Finlay

Donald (Don) Robert Finlay, a long time resident of Hinsdale, passed away on November 11, 2024.

     Don attended the University of Wisconsin and Roosevelt University.  He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity at Madison.

     His career was in banking.  When he left banking, he started his own computer company helping small businesses set up computer systems and programs.

     Upon retiring, Don volunteered for many years at the HCS Family Services Food Pantry.  He was there from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday through Friday in the old location in the Memorial Building.  He loved helping others.  He also volunteered at the Union Church of Hinsdale.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Jane and Henry Finlay, and his sister, Sara Fisher.

    He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Finlay, his daughters Susan (Bill) Wisher and Karin (John) Jones and his grandsons Elisha Jones and Luke Jones.  He is also survived by his brother, David (Robin) Finlay.

     His "Celebration of Life" service will be Saturday, May 10th, 11:00AM with a reception following at the Union Church of Hinsdale, 137 South Garfield, Hinsdale.  His internment will be private in the memorial garden at church.
