Diane Deering passed away peacefully on June 25, 2021, following a valiant fight with cancer. Diane was born on June 8, 1951, in Chicago to Richard and Betty Noe. Diane lived in Chicago in the very early years with her Dad, Mom, and older sister Carole. Her mother passed away when the girls were young (six and four) and Richard moved the girls to Oak Park where they were parishioners of Ascension Church. Diane attended Ascension Grade School, Guerin High School, and Dominican University.
Diane worked at St. Paul Federal Bank in Oak Park for 25 years, retiring as Vice President of Human Resources. She married Len Deering in 1979 and they celebrated their 42nd anniversary this year. Her sons Douglas (Ellen) and Jonathan (Meghan) are her most precious gifts. Betty (5), Harriet (3), Francis (2), and Dorothy (1) are her beloved grandchildren. Since 1987, Diane has lived in Willowbrook and was a member of the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church for 34 years. Diane spent many years volunteering at St. Isaac Jogues which led her to become a kindergarten aide for 2 years. Diane went on to renew her teaching license and taught 2nd grade for almost 3 years. Teaching at St. Isaac Jogues was a very special parish connection.
A visitation for Diane will be held on Wednesday, June 30 at Adolf Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St. Willowbrook, IL from 4 to 8 pm. Friends will meet at Saint Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 306 W. 4th Street, Hinsdale, IL on Thursday July 1, for a 10 am funeral mass. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Diane’s memory to St.Isaac Jogues Parish Catholic School, 421 S. Clay Street, Hinsdale, IL 60521 or Sisters of Providence, 1 Sisters of Providence Road, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, IN 47876.
