Charles Philipp “Skip” Wirsching Jr., 85, of River Forest, Ill., passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at his home. He was born Oct. 26, 1935, in Chicago, Ill., son of the late Charles Philipp and Mamie (York) Wirsching. He was the grandson of Philipp Wirsching, founder of the Wirsching Organ Company, established in 1887 in Salem, Ohio.
Charles was a 1957 graduate of the University of North Carolina. He was a stockbroker and vice-president of Paine Webber, Jackson & Curtis. Charles was a member of the NYSE and a member of the John Nuveen & Company Advisory Council in the tax-exempt securities. He was listed in the Marquis Who’s Who in America for many years.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly, in 2013.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2021, at First United Methodist Church in Salem with Pastor Steve Sullivan officiating. Please abide by CDC guidelines. Entombment will be in the Wirsching Family Mausoleum in Grandview Cemetery.
