Elizabeth "Bette" Julia Genthner

Elizabeth " Bette" Julia Genthner, age 94.  Beloved wife of the late Fredrick N.; loving mother of Tammy ( the late Ralph), Fredrickson and Fredrick J. (Barbara); fond grandmother of Jenny (Dino) Mazone, Amy (Gian) Ricco, Nick (Liz) Genthner; dear great-grandmother of David, Heidi, Gian, George and Danny ; sister of the late Josephine, Marie and Margaret. Bette was born and raised in Chicago and attended Roosevelt University.  She was a pioneer in the development and the training for one of the first computer payroll programs that was implemented by City Products Corporation.  Throughout her career, she trained and supervised her staff to use this program.  Until the age of 90, Bette exercised and swam three times a week.  She was also a world traveler...from the Amazon and through Europe.  Bette volunteer at Maryville Academy and spent many wonderful hours planting flowers at the Conservatory in Des Plaines, IL.  She will always be remembered by her family and her many friends for the love and kindness she had to share.  When she laughed, her eyes sparkled and she would crinkle up her nose and smile.  It was her personal trademark that life was good.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 11, 10:00am at the Evangelical Covenant Church,  412 S. Garfield St. Hinsdale, IL. Interment at Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. Memorials appreciated to Evangelical Covenant Church, Hinsdale.
