Dear MacDiarmid Family-

I have so many wonderful memories of Cash. He was a true gentleman. As a child, being around him was magical. He made one feel so special. He was funny, high energy, smart, generous, and so considerate. I always felt welcome in your warm and loving home due to Cash and Sheila. You are all in my prayers during such a hard time. His was a life very well led, and he set a positive example for all of us. The Hinsdale community has been beyond lucky for the past 50 years. Love, Julie Johnston

Cash was a gracious gentleman who was always so friendly and good-natured. It was always a pleasure to talk with him at the Ushers' parties! I feel lucky to have known him. God Bless him and all of your wonderful family Sheila.

Cash was one of my true heroes. Being around him made you want to be a better person, to be more kind and more empathetic to all people, and to give 1000 percent in all we do in life. I cannot say enough about how he and Sheila helped me and my family through my battle with Leukemia and in ensuring that no matter what happened everything will work out. His sense of humor even after Nellie and a bunch of us would be caught as kids doing crazy kid stuff was commendable. Even the big Red X made from permanent marker on Maggie’s paw brought a smile to his face; like he somehow knew that x was a stamp of admission to a party at the MacDiramid house ( nope she stayed home from the lake that weekend) lol. Thank you God For allowing us to spend time with an incredible Human being here on earth as it is time for Cash toprovide you with some really good stories and a lot of laughs.

From the day he set foot on the island he was a powerful figure and role model. Proud and humbled. I will miss him.
