John A. Benton

John (Jack) Anthony Benton, beloved husband of the late Mary Frances (Dwyer) passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Chicago on August 31, 1929 to the late Patrick and Della; loving father of John (Diane), Timothy (Carol), Virginia Baschen (Eric), Mary Baker (Chris), Kathy Grammich (Cliff); cherished grandfather of Bridget, Colin, Andrew, Sandi, Rusty, Kelly, Kevin, Erin, Katie, Amy, C.J., John, Tracy, Jimmy, Mary Kate and Anthony; great-grandfather of Jackson, Benton, Sam, Jack, Lily, Connor, Baylen and Corbin; devoted brother of Alice (John), Joan (Vince) and the late Marion, Margaret (Wally), Lorraine (Jim),  and Patricia (Don); dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Treasured friend to many.  Founding member of the Southside Boneheads; 1st Degree Knight of Columbus; retired after a long career with McHugh Construction Co.; 50 year member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.  Visitation at Notre Dame Parish,64 Norfolk Ave., Clarendon Hills,  Friday, September 8, 2017 10:30 a.m., funeral mass to follow at 11:30 a.m.   Interment Bronswood Cemetery, Oak Brook.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the Knights of Columbus Council 3738 Intellectual Disabilities Fund (checks payable to Illinois State Council K of C Charities, Inc.), 25 N.
