Jane Whittington

Jane Clarke Whittington, a long-time resident of Hinsdale and Indian Head Park, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2017 at the age of 85.

She was the daughter of Carlin and Thelma Corbett of Chicago.  Jane attended Wilson City Junior College in Chicago and later worked at the City National Bank & Trust Company as a legal secretary in the trust department and then as the Office Manager at Community Presbyterian Church in Clarendon Hills.   

A woman of faith, Jane was an active participant in life of Community Presbyterian Church for nearly 60 years serving as a church elder, singing in the choir and participating in United Presbyterian Women.  She was also active in the community serving as president of the Golfview Hills Women’s Club, secretary of the District #60 PTO Board, and a board member of District #181 High School.  

Jane was the beloved wife of Wesley Whittington and the late Norman F. Clarke.  She was the loving mother of Robert W. Clarke; loving grandmother of Lauren Clarke Maus (Ryan), Peter Thomas Clarke and Julia Whitney Clarke; and great grandmother of Elizabeth Ryan Maus.  

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 18th at Community Presbyterian Church at 39 N. Prospect, Clarendon Hills IL 60514.  A private family internment will be held at Bronswood Cemetery in Oakbrook.  Memorials to Community Presbyterian Church, Clarendon Hills IL.
